Kamchatkan hot springs and therapeutic mineral waters are wonderful. There are about 200 of them there. 124 springs are hot. Most of them are located in the Eastern Volcanic Belt.
The volcanoes of Kamchatka are a large group of volcanoes situated on the Kamchatka Peninsula. The Kamchatka River and the surrounding central side valley are flanked by large volcanic belts containing around 160 volcanoes, 29 of them still active.
The Kamchatka brown bear is the biggest brown bear in Eurasia. It is native to the Anadyrsky District, the Kamchatka Peninsula, Karaginskiy Island, the Kuril Islands.
Kamchatka may contain the world’s greatest diversity of salmonids including chinook, chum, coho, seema, pink, and sockeye salmon. Rainbow trout and dolly varden char are also highly abundant. Biologists estimate at least 20% of all wild Pacific salmon originates in Kamchatka.
